Birds are singing. Flowers are blooming. And despite the greatly missed hour of sleep, the sun shines brighter each day. Spring is nearly here – one week away to be exact. Prepare for the new season with our 10 tips to refresh and revel in all spring has to offer.

1. Get Inspired by Nature

My favorite thing about spring? Nature, of course! With all the trees turning green, it would be a shame not to bring some of that beauty indoors. Decorate your home with plants this spring! Add a fresh bouquet of flowers to your dining table, some fragrant herbs to your kitchen or line your living room windowsill with a few beloved shrubs. You could even top off your nightstand with a succulent, or two…or three!

2. Spruce Up with Spring Cleaning

One of the best ways to get ready for the new season is with a spring cleaning. Even though it is a considerable amount of work – you’ll feel refreshed afterwards. Trust me! Do a thorough vacuum, wash and dusting of your home. And, don’t forget to clean and care for your wood or leather furniture.

If you feel a bit overwhelmed by the idea of a spring clean, focus on the big picture and then gradually work your way down. For example, start with your biggest areas like your floors, sectionaldesk, etc. Then move onto cleaning smaller areas like your TV console and lamps

3. Update Your Bedsheets

I’m sure there’s no scientific evidence for this – but being wrapped up in crisp, new sheets on a freshly made bed does something amazing for the soul. Put an extra pep in your step this spring by changing out your bed sheets. Choose more breathable fabrics like linen and cotton to accommodate for spring temperatures and have some fun with floral prints and brighter colors.

4. Revamp Your Wardrobe

What better excuse to splurge on new clothes than the new season! Switch out your wardrobe of thick sweaters and winter coats with some refreshing spring clothes. Of course, you can dig out your clothes from last year. But you can also buy some new colorful frocks to transition you into the spirit of spring.

5. Add Seasonal Décor

Easter is coming up quickly. Feel festive by transforming your home with Easter and spring-themed décor. Seasonal décor is one of the quickest ways to transition your home. So, ditch those Christmas lights for some spring-tastic decorations!

6. Become a Bit More Sustainable

Don’t let the word “sustainable” scare you. While there are many ways to live more sustainably, that doesn’t mean you have to totally transform your life all at once. For those who are new to sustainable living, try incorporating one to three new practices to help keep nature’s beauty alive and well for generations to come. You could bring reusable bags whenever you go grocery shopping, switch out your plastic water bottles with a filter for your sink and recycle – if you haven’t started already.

7. Clear Out Your Social Media

Although social media can be a fantastic platform to stay entertained, in the know and connected with so much of the world, we also know that it can be detrimental. If you follow a bunch of gorgeous celebrities and influencers on social media, it can become a bit confusing seeing nothing but seemingly perfect images. You may start to think, how come I don’t look like that or how come I’m not experiencing that?

If scrolling through Instagram makes you feel insecure or creates a sense of unrealistic expectations, it may be time for a digital clear out. Go through your following list and unfollow all the accounts which make you feel negatively. You’ll be surprised by how refreshed you feel afterwards.

8. Try That Thing You’ve Been Thinking About

Have you ever envisioned yourself being amazing at something? The only problem is, you still haven’t tried that thing you’ve fantasized about for ages. Well, what better time to try out your daydream than this spring! Take the plunge this month and try something new. You could try it out on your own, do it with a friend or sign-up for a class to finally try your soon-to-be hobby.

9. Get Outdoors

Get your daily dose of Vitamin D by spending time outdoors this spring. Create new memories by having a picnic with your family, going on a hike with your dog or simply slowing down from this fast-paced world by relaxing in the sun. You don’t even have to go far to enjoy the outdoors. You could have some fun from the comfort of your own backyard.

10. Reconnect with Loved Ones

Raise your hand if you’re guilty of flaking on plans this past winter. 🙋‍♀️🙋‍♂️ It’s hard keeping up with loved ones in the colder months when all you want to do is stay in a cocoon of blankets at home. But now that temperatures are rising, make an effort to reconnect with family and friends. At the end of the day, it’s the people in our lives that can transform a bad day to a good one.

Spend time rejoicing in the beauty around you this spring. The new season is a chance to start fresh and recommit to any plans you may have made in the New Year. Stay tuned on our blog for more inspiration this spring!
