How long is the Dallas Knox store closed?

Our Knox Street store will be temporarily closed for 24 months.  Please visit our other locations in Farmers Branch, Plano and Southlake.

Why are you renovating the Knox store location?

Knox Street has been our home since 1948, but our beloved building is almost 100 years old making it difficult to maintain. We plan to update plumbing, there will no longer be leaks, and the large underground parking garage will help with the expanding Knox St. area. As the Weir family has grown up in this store, it was a tough decision to renovate but it will make for a more comfortable and convenient environment for our customers and employees. We are committed to ensuring a better shopping experience for future generations.

What steps are being taken to protect the historic character of the Knox Street?
There are plans to protect the area’s historical character when the renovation begins. We are preserving the Highland Park Pharmacy exterior along with anything inside that can be saved. Additionally, we are keeping the front door at Weir’s, the clock tower, and all of the Country Store. It was a tough decision to renovate but it will ultimately lead to a better shopping experience.

When will renovations be complete?
Renovations are planned to be complete mid to late 2021.

How does this renovation effect the Weir’s employees?
All of our employees have been offered roles at one of our other 3 locations, Farmers Branch, Plano and Southlake during the redevelopment.
