Weir's Furniture
    Dallas Store currently undergoing Redevelopment

    Dear Weir’s Customer,

My grandfather, J. Ray Weir, first opened the Knox Street store on March 19, 1948.  We are a local, family-owned business operating based on the Golden Rule, to treat others the way we’d want to be treated.

To that end I wanted to share with you our plans for our Dallas, Knox store location. Weir’s has had the pleasure of serving the local community for 70 years and our store has started to show some wear and tear. As the Weir family grew up in this store, it was a tough decision, but we’ve decided to renovate. For us this is exciting but also a bit nerve-racking as we know it may be for some of our community. There are a few quick things I’d like to share about the process:

    • There are plans to protect the area’s historical character
      • The Highland Park Soda Fountain building is being preserved
      • We plan to preserve as many of the Weir’s historical items that we can, like the front door, the clock tower, and all of the Country Store among other items
    • We are committed to finding a place for our Knox employees at one of our other stores during redevelopment
    • We plan to reopen at Knox/Travis mid to late 2021
    • We invite you to join us in our redevelopment journey on Instagram at @weirsfurniture

We appreciate your flexibility and patience as we prepare to continue serving you and future generations of the Dallas community. If you have any questions or concerns, please email us at
